Step inside the factory. No not the one with the chocolate or Warhol’s infamous 60’s art den, but Jean Paul Gaultier’s. It might be called “the factory” but it’s closer to fantasy: half-dressed sailors and amazonian women mill about to classical opera – interrupted by a beat we wouldn’t mind dancing to. Lead by Vs. cover girl Daphne Groeneveld and with a jet-black-haired Soo Joo Park at her side, we get a glimpse inside the magic it takes to create the Classic and Le Male. Maybe you should never meet your heroes, but with Daphne as our guide, Gaultier’s factory has got to be one of the best behind-the-scenes tours we’ve ever seen.
