When asking people to define Haute Couture, many would describe a somewhat big, dreamy & dramatic creation. Quite the opposite of the pastel “daywear” looking tweed outfits, that opened the spring 2017 Chanel Couture show. However sometimes what catches the eye as simple actually is the most complex to carry out. It’s the artisanal composition of fabrics & trims all applied, draped and fit to perfection by hand, that makes the whole difference. As Karl Lagerfeld expressed himself, its all about the word impeccable. We can’t point a finger at anything. The collection, as well as a flawless Lily Rose Deep doing the finale look, was indeed impeccable.
